Mackex Services delivered electrical infrastructure works as part of the Showground Road upgrade in the Hills District, including relocation and protection of existing HV and LV distribution network assets conflicting with the road upgrade footprint and installation of new electrical conduit systems within the upgraded road reserve.
Works included identification and protection of existing underground Ausgrid network assets, relocation of overhead and underground distribution infrastructure displaced by the road upgrade, and installation of new electrical conduit systems and HV cable routes within the upgraded road reserve. Mackex coordinated all Ausgrid network interface works under Level 1 and Level 2 ASP licence conditions and managed traffic management requirements within the active construction zone.
The Showground Road corridor contained significant existing underground electrical, telecommunications and water services requiring comprehensive potholing and services management before construction. Coordinating electrical works within an active road construction programme required daily programme alignment with the head contractor and management of multiple planned outage windows. Works were performed with road traffic maintained throughout using temporary traffic management arrangements.
