Mackex Services performed overhead distribution line reconstruction works for Endeavour Energy in Penrith, replacing end-of-life poles and conductors on a key urban distribution feeder to restore network reliability and comply with current safety standards.
The project involved full pole-by-pole replacement of a section of 11kV overhead distribution infrastructure, including new timber and steel poles, conductor re-stringing, insulator replacement and stay wire upgrades. Works required close coordination with Endeavour Energy’s network control centre for planned outage windows and network restoration sequences.
Reconstruction of urban overhead lines required traffic management on residential streets and management of public exclusion zones beneath energised assets. Planned outage windows were constrained by network switching requirements and customer impact considerations, requiring tight daily work programmes. Interfaces with overhead Telstra infrastructure and ADSS communications cables required careful planning and third-party coordination.
