Mackex Services provided a Level 1 ASP high-voltage connection for Landmark at Lachlans Line, Halifax Street, Macquarie Park — a densely developed technology and business precinct in Sydney’s north. Works delivered an 11kV underground cable connection from Ausgrid’s distribution network to the building’s dedicated substation to support the high-rise commercial fitout.
The project required construction of a new HV cable route through the urban streetscape of Macquarie Park, including civil trenching and conduit installation through existing infrastructure corridors, cable pulling and jointing, and substation metering and protection equipment installation. Coordination with Ausgrid’s connection team was required throughout to manage design approvals, network augmentation requirements and the switching programme for energisation.
Macquarie Park’s high-density underground services environment required extensive potholing and services location before any excavation. Navigating Ryde Council’s road occupancy approvals for works in a busy commercial street required detailed traffic management planning. The building’s connection load required assessment of network augmentation needs, adding complexity to the Ausgrid design approval process. All works were completed without disruption to adjacent occupied commercial buildings.
