New South Wales has three electricity distribution networks. Knowing which network covers your site determines which distributor accreditation your ASP needs.
Ausgrid
Ausgrid covers metropolitan Sydney, the Hunter Valley, and the Central Coast — approximately 1.7 million customers.
- Sydney CBD and inner suburbs
- Northern Sydney, Eastern Suburbs, Inner West
- Western Sydney (parts of Parramatta, Blacktown, Penrith)
- Central Coast and Hunter Valley
Endeavour Energy
Endeavour Energy covers Greater Western Sydney, the Illawarra, the Blue Mountains, and the Southern Highlands.
- Penrith, Campbelltown, Liverpool, Fairfield
- Wollongong and the Illawarra
- Blue Mountains and Southern Highlands
- Nowra and the South Coast
Essential Energy
Essential Energy covers regional and rural NSW — the largest geographic area but lower customer density.
- Orange, Dubbo, Tamworth, Wagga Wagga
- Far North Coast (Lismore, Ballina, Byron Bay)
- New England (Armidale, Inverell)
- Far West NSW
Which network are you on?
Your electricity bill shows your DNSP. Your postcode generally determines your network, though some postcodes are split between Ausgrid and Endeavour Energy.
Mackex Services holds ASP 1 and ASP 2 accreditation across all three NSW networks. Contact us to discuss works on any NSW distribution network.
